What a year 2018 has been and we have much for which we are thankful. And to finish off we have had a number of celebration events plus numerous end of year activities for the students participate in.
It was also a time to farewell a number of our staff including Mr Grahame Bertram (heading to retirement after working at our school for the past 21 years); Mrs Nerylee Deans (who has faithfully served for 18 years, and is taking a ‘small’ step into retirement); Mr Stephen Babbage (heading North to take up the position of Principal at Trinity College, Gladstone, QLD); Mr Geoff Chesher (heading overseas to the UK). Mrs Gabbi Gerritsen will return to her position at ICS after completing a sterling job as Director of Curriculum, Head of Science & TAS and teacher of Maths and Science, here at Calderwood.
We also want to thank Mr Phil Pratt who stepped out of retirement for the year to teach physics; Mrs Anna Dombkins for filling in as the temporary counsellor for the past 6 months and Miss Valerie O’Regan who has been our social media officer. We also bid a temporary farewell to Mrs Emma Bell, who will be taking 6 months maternity leave.

Thank you to all the staff and students for their efforts to bring these events together. It was also lovely to see all the family and friends who came along to support and enjoy these occasions.
As staff we gathered together on Friday, 14 December to celebrate the end of the year and it was a wonderful time of good food (thanks to Dapto Anglican Cafe), fellowship and reflecting on the year that has passed.
We pray that every member of our community have a blessed Christmas and 2019! Thank you for journeyed with us through 2018 and we look forward to another exciting year ahead! God Bless!
