ZONE TOUCH FOOTBALL
Last Thursday, Calderwood was represented by secondary students at the Zone Touch Football Gala Day, held in Fairy Meadow. Our students performed well, particularly with warm weather conditions to contend with. The highlight of the day was the achievements of both girls’ teams, with the U14 Girls winning their division and the Open Girls team finishing on equal highest points, though placing 3rd due to for and against. Both boys’ teams won a number of games and scored some impressive tries as they finished 4th (U14 Boys) and 5th (Open Boys). Congratulations also to the students selected in the Zone Team which will compete at the State Gala Day next year – Courtney S, Kate L (U14 Girls), Harry W (U14 Boys), Mikayla dJ, Anna I (Open Girls) and Joel J (Open Boys).
AUSTRALIAN MATHEMATICAL COMPETITION
In August, 27 students from Years 7 to 12 participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition run by the Australian Mathematics Trust. It was pleasing to see students using their gifts to glorify God and to partake in this exciting opportunity. Many students received outstanding results and awards.
Congratulations to the following students:
Ben R, Year 8 – Distinction award
Wesley L, Taiya K and Elijah B of Year 7, Joshua L of Year 8, Sarah F and Katelyn S of Year 10 and David C of Year 12 – a Credit award.
All students are to be commended for their efforts.
