K-2 SPORTS NEWS
K-2 staff would like to thank all of the parent helpers that have assisted with the various aspects of the gymnastics and swimming program. Your assistance has been very much appreciated.
Next term, K-2 students will participate in tennis lessons for sport. Local coaches, Michelle and Brett Edwards, will provide a 6-lesson coaching clinic at school. These lessons are sure to provide as much fun for the students as their swimming and gymnastics lessons.
CELEBRATING FRUIT AND VEG’TEMBER
If you missed the visit from our life-sized fruit and vegetables, or just want to have another laugh, come and join Prep – Year 6 students and staff as they celebrate their efforts for Fruit and Veg’tember from 12.20 pm – 1.55 pm on Tuesday, 16 October. There will be lots of fun with fitness activities and food art made from fruit and vegetables.
SUMMER UNIFORM REMINDER
In Term 4, students are required to wear their summer uniform as appropriate for their year level. Please remember, the black wellington jackets are only permitted in Terms 2 & 3. Refer to our website or the Parents Handbook 2018.
ABSENTEEISM AND HOLIDAYS
It is the school’s legal responsibility to ensure that student absences from school are accounted for and valid. If your child is absent from school for any reason, then he/she must bring a signed note from you stating the reason within 7 days of the absence. If you are planning holidays outside of the normal school holiday period, parents are to write to the Principal to seek approval for their plans before the event. This is especially important for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 where external regulations on assessments apply and assessment schedules must be complied with.
The first volume of Louisa May Alcott’s instantly successful children’s book, Little Women, was published with the second volume being released the following year. The novel became Alcott’s first bestseller and a beloved children’s classic. The Learning Hub has a copy to borrow.
